Hard to believe that five years ago today, Braid was released on XBLA. It was released alongside other massive XBLA titles like Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Castle Crashers and Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 during the 2008 Summer of Arcade. Since then, it has been released on several other platforms including Mac OS, Windows and PlayStation Network.
Five years later, Braid‘s soundtrack remains one of the most pleasant things to have ever graced my ears. Featuring a handful of licensed songs from Jami Sieber, Shira Kammen and Swan, and Cheryl Ann Fulton, the soundtrack is comprised of beautiful pieces with violins and pianos.
If I had to pick just one, “Lullaby Set” brings me to an especially calming place in my mind. I always imagine sitting in a meadow watching the sunrise, taking in the cool, crisp air one breath at a time.
Each song has a place in my heart, and can be purchased individually online through iTunes or Amazon MP3. A Braid soundtrack licensed from Magnatune can also be found here as well.
